Hotel Review: Pan Pacific Singapore
Part 3 - Sunday Champagne Brunch @ Edge Having a Champagne Brunch at Edge (Pan Pacific Singapore) is not a simple task. With 7 different food theatres showcasing the freshest and finest delicacy, I had to strategize my attack as I was totally spoiled for choices. For only S$168++, there are almost 120 dishes and 35 desserts to choose from, complemented with unlimited Veuve Clicquot champagne, wines, beers and cocktails.
Their "live" food theatres present a vast variety of international cuisines, which include Chinese Malay, Indian, Singaporean, Thai, Japanese and Pan Pacific's signature "Pacific Cuisines".
As I was brought to the table beside the seafood area, I started my 4 hours long brunch with the Crustacean on ice. The highlights include Boston Lobster, Alaska King Crab and 3 types of French and Canadian Oysters. I was totally in loved with their Oysters. They were skillfully shucked, as the fresh piece of meat remained in a small pool of filtered seawater. With a little squeeze of lemon onto the Oyster, the taste was simply AMAZING. It was really so addictive that I went for the second round. Before I asked for more Oysters, I went to the other "center of attraction" and saw these 2 words - Foie Gras. Holy Mama! I immediately asked for a serving and I was told that it will be served to my table. Look at the size of the Foie Gras. It was Hugeeee!
Around the kitchen where I asked for my lovely Foie Gras, there were some other signature meat dishes like Prime Rib, Wagyu Beef, Suckling Pigs and Pan Pacific Sausages. If you are a egg lover craving for some runny egg yolk, there have this Poached Egg with Truffle Coulis where you have to give it a try.
While I was at the table, there was Feast-On-Wheels service where the chef will walk around the tables and present to you some other signature seafood and meat items such as Home Cured Salmon Gravlax, Crispy Kurouta Pork Belly and etc.
One thing I regretted the most was that I forget to try their Mango Sticky Rice! If you had enough trying western dishes, hop over to the Asian section for some Dim Sum, Tandoori, Sambal Stingay and many many more.
To be honest, I did not take much from the Asian section even though they looked super-licious. Before the Champagne Brunch, I already had a small breakfast buffet at Edge.
One advise to you is that you need to save about 10% of the stomach space for the Champagne and 30% of it for the dessert. If you a cheese lover, then maybe you have to sub-divide again to save 20% for the dessert and 10% for the cheese. Shout-out to the cheese lovers, their 2m Cheeseboard displays 30 varieties of artisanal Cheese and Raclette a la minute. *Screams*
If you did not read carefully earlier on, they have around 35 desserts to choose from. Be sure to try the Pan Pacific soft chocolates which instantly melts in the mouth, without any hesitation! If you ask me for my top favorites, I will strongly recommend their DURAIN PORRIDGE and glutton-free brownies beside their soft chocolate. When I went to take their Brownies for the second time, there was this Caucasian who also complimented about the Brownies to her friend.
