After some tug of war on deciding between Conrad or Hilton for a staycation, I ended up at Conrad Singapore for the Marina Bay view. Thanks to the new cash+point redemption system, Conrad Singapore was made very much affordable although their rooms are outdated as compared to other good hotels in the vicinity.
My booking was made one tier below the executive room on purpose and we eventually got upgraded to executive room with lounge- thanks to Hilton Gold status. Check-in at the lobby was pretty swift but service touch was to bare minimal (even at the executive lounge). In addition, check-out was a disaster as the staff were questioning on the upgrade and did not acknowledge our executive lounge benefits. We were also asked to pay for the complimentary pressing until we insisted her to check on the details. No apologies was given as well. So here goes some of the pictures of the executive room. It is the same as the classic rooms. However, do take note that Conrad Singapore has started refurnishing its hotel rooms.

I have always been wanting to visit UAE ever since I made my first transit in Middle East a few years ago. To many Asians, I believe we have little clues about the arabian culture. When I was in UAE, several friends asked me if it is safe and afforable to travel around there. Just like Singapore, I think there is no need to fear of travelling alone. The locals are approachable in times when you are lost. While Abu Dhabi is not covered with a train system, travelling around the city by taxi or bus is easy and surprisingly cheaper than Singapore. My accomdation at Sofitel Abu Dhabi was well below S$160/night, which I think it's a great deal.
To be honest, there is pretty much nothing to do in Abu Dhabi, except for the Grand Mosque which I have spent more than half of the day appreciating its beauty. Therefore, I think its worthwhile to get a good hotel to relax and enjoy since the rates are pretty decent in this city.
It is not too late to do a last minute planning for your year end trip. From today till 11 Nov, Hilton Hhonors is offering up to 40% discount for its members (free sign up) for stays up till April 17, 2017. Fancy for a decent accommodation for your holidays? Hilton Hotels is a good choice if you managed to snatch a great deal.
Of all the Hilton hotels that I have came across, the room furnishing in Hilton Sukhumvit is by far the best I have seen. If you wish to be centrally located yet away from the bustling area, Hilton Sukhumvit can be a good option.
Pullman G Bangkok (a property under AccorHotels) is by far my most favourite hotel in this city. Not even Conrad Bangkok or Banyan Tree Bangkok can make it to the top of my list. In terms of location, aesthetic, service and comfort level, every single cent that I have spent was worth paying for. In fact, I think they could have set a higher price. It is a hotel that I truly recommend to everyone.
Hotel Deal: SPG Seven Days, Super Saving Promotion - up to 55% off [Asia Pacific, Book by 24 July]20/7/2016
Looking for better quality accommodation? It's time to put your attention to the current SPG promotion. If you are new to SPG, it is a loyalty program that consist of several hotel brands ranging from middle tier (E.g. Four Points, Aloft) to high end hotels (W hotel, St Regis). Although this promotion does not offer spectacular cheap rates, it does offer a large price slash.
From now to 14 February, Hilton is having up to 30% discount for their Southeast Asia hotels for stays until 31 December 2016. After browsing through, I have noticed a couple of good prices. Personally, the prices for hotels in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur attract me the most. [Bangkok starting from S$119].
Besides Southeast Asia, there are some promotions for other regions in Asia as well. If you are keen to have a good holiday, click into this post and have a look.
From now till 14 Jan 2015, AccorHotels is offering up to 50% discount for AccorHotels Programme members (free to join).
If you have been following my blog, you will notice that I will always write a post on this whenever there is a big AccorHotel sales. This is because the prices are too good to be missed. I can't stress enough how great this sale is. At the point when I'm writing this post, I can still find amazing rate for their luxury boutique hotel, Sofitel So Singapore, at S$162++ per night. You can hardly find this price for similar kinds of hotel in Singapore.
Being one of the tallest and striking building along the shopping street, I would always take a few look from the outside and had a little itch whenever I walked past Mandarin Orchard. Last year, Mandarin Orchard had an amazing promotion for Safra members (probably the only time Safra membership is useful). The premier room with club lounge access was costing around SGD200++ per night, which was incredible.
Having stayed for a weekend, I thought to myself that I would probably never return again unless I could get it at the same rate again. If you are planning for a countdown party or intending to catch the fireworks and aerial show for national day, Mandarin Orchard may be a good choice to consider as some rooms are facing directly towards the Marina Bay.
