Hotel Review: The Westin Singapore
Sea View Room. The Westin Singapore is MAD GORGEOUS. Ever since its first opening in late 2013, I have been so wanting to do a staycation at The Westin Singapore. It had since then became my goal. You can't imagine how excited I was when me and my friend managed to find a better deal and booked it for my birthday.
Arrival Lobby-Level 1
The Westin Singapore occupied the top floors of Asia Square Tower 2, located near Shenton Way in the CBD area. When we arrived the hotel, we were guided to the lift where it brought us to the main lobby for check-in at level 32, the highest hotel lobby in Singapore. I knew that our staycation will be an amazing one when the hotel can already amused us with their lift's call button. Can you find the call button from the picture above?
The main lobby is extremely beautiful. It is so picturesque and vibrant. I really love the design and the choices of furniture. They are modern, sophisticated and chic. Together with the panoramic view of the seaport and the cityscape, I am pretty sure anyone will be stunned when they first arrived.
We were attended by Ms Abby during the check-in, who handled us ably, providing us with useful information such as the SPG privileges. If you are a SPG member (free sign-up), there are more reasons why you should visit The Westin Singapore. Until the end of this year, all bills at the Lobby Lounge and lunch and dinner buffets at the Seasonal Tastes are at 25% discount.
The Sea View Room
The Sea View Room is one category above the basic deluxe room. This 40-50 sqm room is facing towards Asia Square Tower 1 and the hotel's infinity pool. With its floor-to-ceiling windows, it provides partial view of the Marina Bay and the South China Sea. For a full view of the South China Sea, guests have to book the higher room categories, which are the Premier Sea View room and above.
Westin Heavenly Bed
I have heard about their signature Heavenly Bed before I had my staycation with The Westin. However, I did not understand why it is a tagline for The Westin until I found out that the Heavenly Bed is produced by The Westin, which anyone can purchase from their online store. Seriously, I am lost of words to give a reasonable description of how excellent their Heavenly Bed is. They are very particular in ensuring their guest getting a good night sleep. When I explored around in the bed, I realized there are more than 3 layers when I flipped through the blanket.
Evening Turndown Service
The evening turndown service is available upon request where they replenished the amenities and do some small touches to get the room ready for the night. If you are an active SPG points collector, you can decline the housekeeping service and earn 250 points each night.
List of items they provide
The Oversized Marbled Floor Bathroom
More than a quarter of the area goes to the marbled floor bathroom. It has a free standing bathtub and a separated shower stall with rainshower fittings.
The White Tea Aloe (in-house brand) shower amenities are remarkable. The light tea fragrance really smell extremmmey good. It will linger around your hair and skin after the shower. I am seriously not exaggerating here. I really love their amenities. It is one of the best hotel amenities I ever use. Even the Ritz Carlton amenities couldn't be better than these.
Birthday Surprise
On the second evening when I returned back to the pool, The Westin had left some wishes and a plate of dainties for my birthday. My birthday was a few days later that night but it was kind of expected to me since I have stayed in many hotel. The most memorable birthday surprise was still the one on Singapore Airlines flight to Bangkok.
The Infinity Pool
The sight of this is so therapeutic. There is no limit to such beautiful pool that visually extends to the sea, mirroring the floating clouds. The best time to be there would be during the dawn and the dusk when there is no one there to disrupt the calm water.

Heavenly Spa By Westin
The Heavenly Spa is located on the same floor as the pool. The usage of the whirlpool and aromatherapy steam bath is complimentary for in-house guest.
Bitch Mode Moment At The Outdoor Pool
The pool was crowded during the weekend afternoon when I was there. Most of the time we were fortunate to have the best loungers, which were directly along the pool and the scenery. To be exact, they were the loungers at the corner which you can see in the first picture of the pool. On the second afternoon, we were using the same loungers when we met this annoying group of instagramers /social celebrities wannabe /attention seekers or whatever they want to be. I could still clearly remember these 3 ladies were wearing heavy makeup to the pool (what the.. ). Given that the pool is not as big as the one in MBS, they brought 3 big and attention seeking floaters to the pool (what the.. ). Their pictures were all along taken by a guy who was standing next to us all the time. Can you imagine how many times I rolled my eyes when they were posing directly in front of us and took pictures non-stop for more than an hour (what the.. )? What an amusing sight. I think you will only understand how I felt once you have seen their pictures. Under Instagram search function, just type "#westinsg". You will see a "huge swan" if you continue to scroll down.
Bottomline
The Westin Singapore is extremely gorgeous, be it the infinity pool, the hotel lobby and the room. It was way beyond my expectations. Also, their shower amenities is one of the best hotel amenities I have ever used. The area towards the sea is currently developing., Hence, the outdoor pool will definitely wont be infinity in future. I am expecting the rates to drop in future. The current average rate of this Sea View Room cost about SGD 430. Location The Westin Singapore 12 Marina View Asia Square Tower 2
