Pullman G Bangkok (a property under AccorHotels) is by far my most favourite hotel in this city. Not even Conrad Bangkok or Banyan Tree Bangkok can make it to the top of my list. In terms of location, aesthetic, service and comfort level, every single cent that I have spent was worth paying for. In fact, I think they could have set a higher price. It is a hotel that I truly recommend to everyone.
Pullman G Bangkok has a distinctive look. It has its own unique style, with a slight pinch of W Hotel vibe. Although its room and other areas of the property use the same colour tone, the room is more towards minimalism (and I like it alot!) while the other areas have more contemporary art elements. I especially love their lifts, which are only lighted up by large LCD display where they run a music dance video.
During our stay, we were apparently their "guest-of-the-day" and were given better rooms and executive lounge access. Check-in was completed at the lounge reception. Even if we were not entitled to such privileges, I would still think that it is worth the value to book a normal room in Pullman G Bangkok. It was only around SGD 100 per night when I made the booking.
i. Pullman G Deluxe Room
This 34sqm room is absolutely stunning. Most of the things are in milky white, complemented with some neutral brown and metallic elements to give a little contrast and volume. The floor-to-ceiling window that extends from one corner to another gives a spectrum view of this bustling city. I really love how well this minimalistic look complements with the view. They did not steal each other spotlight. Additionally, this colour skin-tone makes this room look very spacious.
Talking about the amenities in this room, it has almost everything we need. It would be nicer if there is a coffee machine. Nevertheless, besides the complimentary water bottles and snacks (love letter biscuit and coconut sweet), we were also given drink vouchers where we can redeem it at the Scarlett wine bar and restaurant, located at the top of the hotel. These vouchers are issued to AccorHotels members who are in silver tier and above. Scarlett wine bar and restaurant seems to be pretty famous. It was crowded when we went up at night. The view was spectacular and there was a DJ at the outdoor bar.
As the sun begin to set, there is also a turn-down service where the attendant would set your bed for the night and replenish all amenities in the room. Do remember to browse through their pillow menu. There are ten types of pillow to choose from. Last but no least, I also appreciate that there is a room control beside the bed. It gives a lot of convenience to adjust the lighting and temperature.
Similarly, the bathroom is spacious as well. It comes with a separate shower stall and a huge bathtub. Besides the shower amenities, there is a box filled with an extensive range of items as well. Other than those normal items like shower caps and sewing kit, they also provide cotton pad and cotton bud too. The shower amenities are CO Bigelow products from the US.
ii. Pullman G Executive Lounge
At this point of writing, I am so excited to talk about their executive lounge. I love their evening cocktail and canapes. I love it so much to the extend that we came back again although we had the Hilton lounge after checking out from Pullman. The selection of food and drinks were way better than the lounge in Conrad Bangkok and Hilton Sukhumvit. Besides beer and wine, they have a good range of cocktail and mocktail. One does not simply leave the lounge without trying the Pullman Breeze. It was really good.
As for their afternoon tea, it was not that great but was sufficient to fill your stomach for awhile. It would be okay to skip the afternoon tea and have some better food in the city. We have the breakfast in the restaurant instead. Although I find the place rather small, the food was pretty good and extensive.
The executive club benefits are as follows:
- Breakfast from 6am to 10.30am, afternoon tea from 2pm to 4pm, evening cocktail & canapes from 5.30 to 7.30pm - Mineral water, soft drinks, coffee and tea throughout the day - 1 hour per stay use of executive lounge's boardroom - 1 suit pressing per stay - Late checkout until 4pm (based on availability)
iii. Bottomline
If you are a person who is very particular about the pool and sun, I would not highly this hotel to you as their pool is sheltered without its outdoor. It may get crowded easily as the pool area is rather small. Other than that, I think it really worth staying at Pullman G Bangkok as I really love the room and the location. Pullman G Bangkok is only a short walk away from Sala Daeng/ Chong Nonsi BTS station. They have complimentary tuk-tuk service to Sala Daeng BTS station during the day on the hour basis. I paid only around SGD100/ 60 euros per night and I could still find this rate at the point of writing.
These are the hotels that I have stayed before and I rank them as follows: 1. Pullman G Bangkok 2. Conrad Bangkok 3. Banyan Tree Bangkok and Hilton Sukhumvit 4.Swissotel Nai Lerk Park
